Bailey and Battensby Sawmill
The Murdoch Bailey and Battensby sawmill situated at the Fisher place at Albreda, where the Lenko house is now. Crew of men pictured are Jules Frye, Mike Frye, Virgil Kimmel, Fred Frye, Murdock Bailey, Sambo, Smith, Charlie Frye. Mrs. Battensby was sometimes cook, otherwise Murdock cooked. Lumber was hauled by an old Ford truck to Atkin's planer at Cedarside. It was noted Murdock lost his hair in the 1918 flu epidemic. |
