Newsletter
The Basin Record is one of the ways the Columbia Basin Institute communicates with its members and reaches out to the wider community. Members receive The Basin Record as a printed newsletter. After a year has passed the pdf file gets posted to the Columbia Basin Institute web site for wider distribution.
The purpose of The Basin Record is to make available to our members potential new research areas and new materials that become available on old research areas. We also use it as a news vehicle, although the web site gives most news a more immediate exposure. The newsletter also gives the Columbia Basin Institute of Regional History an opportunity to recognize individuals, through the "Basin Biographies", who have contributed to the definition of this region we choose to live and study in.
