At the Columbia Basin Institute we research both human and natural occurrences in the Columbia Basin. We work to rescue the facts, images and stories and to make the information available to encourage more research.
What is the Columbia Basin Institute of Regional History? It is a member-driven non-profit society dedicated to:
- stimulating both natural and human history research in and on the Columbia Basin
- making accessible the history of the region
- rescuing and digitizing the facts, images and stories of the region's past
- providing in-depth research access to Columbia Basin Institute members wherever they may reside
- allowing easy ways to purchase images made available by our partners in the Columbia Basin Image Bank
- making history interesting, appealing and public through signage, newsletters and publications
